‘Don’t Be Afraid Of The Dark’ At Real Art Ways

Guillermo del Toro’s most famous film, “Pan’s Labyrinth,” was about a lonely little girl who comes in contact with supernatural forces in her home.

“Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark” has a similar premise. The supernatural thriller, written by del Toro and directed by Troy Nixey, is about a girl who goes to live with her father and his girlfriend, and in their home she finds creatures who want her to join them.

The film, which stars Guy Pearce and Katie Holmes and is rated R, will be shown in a limited late-night run this weekend at Real Art Ways in Hartford.

It will be shown 9:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Dec. 9 and 10. Admission is $10, $7 seniors and students, $5 members, $4.50 senior and student members.

Try It Review: Crayola Model Magic Presto Dots

BUFORD, GA — Crayola claims it can get your kids to put down the remote control and get creative with their line of modeling kits.

The Model Magic material is supposed to be lighter and less messy than clay and dough.

Six year-old Gabe doesn’t seem like the ideal tester for this new craft. He says he doesn’t ever play with modeling clay and only likes video games.

After a little encouragement, Gabe agreed to try the Presto Dots Wiggle Bones Dragonfly craft. It sells for about $10 and is for kids six and up.

Gabe needed a little help getting started but before long he seems to get into it.

“Oh now I get it, now I get it,” he said.
