July 7th, 2011Posted by Kai Mowll

This coming Monday, butches it up as three lesbian students enroll in RuPaul’s school of higher, draggier learning. Yes, getting glamazon makeovers this week (courtesy of Drag U professors Jujubee, Raven and Ongina) are three tough-gal lesbians who gamely give it a go, shedding their gruff (read: butch) exteriors and seeing what happens when they priss it up and paint on some draggy decor.

And among this week’s student body, killer comic Julie Goldman and (@AskAJAnything)!

But maybe best of all (“Beiste” of all?) as this week’s guest judge/faculty member, RuPaul brings us, none other than!!! Brilliant

Apprentice star Melody Hossaini speaks about her extraordinary life

July 6th, 2011Posted by Molly Pennington

Melody Hossaini

She was born in war-torn Iran, was held at gunpoint at the age of 12 and then kidnapped by a deranged taxi driver who dumped her in a desert.

But nothing could prepare Melody Hossaini for the boardroom grilling at the hands of ruthless business boss Lord Sugar.

On Wednesday nine million viewers watched the pushy entrepreneur reduced to tears as she was booted off The Apprentice.

It was an uncharacteristic show of emotion from Melody who, at 26, has had to deal with more terrifying situations than most of us experience in a lifetime.

She has always managed to keep her cool and her steely attitude has led to her becoming one of the most controversial stars on this series, with Lord Sugar branding her ruthless and a tiger.

And a number of high-profile clashes with other contestants including a blazing row with Zoe Beresford in a supermarket have added to her tough image.

But her distraught reaction in the boardroom proved just how desperate the impressive businesswoman who runs a global company with tens of thousands of customers was to a secure a coveted 250,000 investment from Lord Sugar.

Last night Midlands-based Melody opened up about her extraordinary life and her terrible disappointment at failing to win, despite surviving to the final six in the competition.

Ive cheated death so many times that sometimes I think Ive got nine lives, she said. I was born

Keri Hilson Can’t Have Songwriting Without Singing

July 6th, 2011Posted by Tristan Duggan

Keri Hilson stopped by Cee Lo Green’s new show ‘Talking to Strangers’ the other night and the two chatted about how Keri manages to balance her professional and personal lives. Keri later treated the audience to a performance of her hit ‘Pretty Girl Rock’ and Cee Lo surprised her on stage.

“I like to have my cake and eat it too,” Hilson said about whether she prefers songwriting or being an artist. “I really can’t have one without the other because being an artist was my first dream. Songwriting was my plan B, and I learned to love it. I never even knew it would take off as fast and as far as it did. I never guessed I would write for Britney Spears and Mary J. Blige, who I grew

‘Jersey Shore’ star Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino sued for $1 million by his former reps

July 6th, 2011Posted by Kai Mowll

“Jersey Shore” star Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino has just been slapped with a $1 million lawsuit by his former managers, who claim the reality TV star dumped them after they took him from “relative obscurity” (that’s generous) to “international celebrity” (that’s the sad truth), according to legal papers obtained by TMZ.com.

Gotham NYC Entertainment has been representing The Situation since the show debuted in December 2009, but the company says he ended their relationship in May “due to lack of performance.” (Can the same not be said of The Situation?) But the Situation did not give Gotham its 30 days notice and chance to fix any problems, so he is in breach, according to the lawsuit.

The Situation is in Seaside Heights filming the fifth season of the show, despite recent rumors that he planned to leave the hit series (which followed similar reports of fellow castmate Vinny Guadagnino walking).

British actress Helen McCrory has only one regret when it comes to playing Narcissa Malfoy in the Harry Potter series: She didn’t join the franchise earlier.

Before she took on the role of Draco Malfoy’s mother in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, McCrory was signed on to play Bellatrix Lestrange. But when she became pregnant, the role was recast and given to Helena Bonham Carter.

McCrory, 42, talked to Parade.com about the final film and why she has so much respect for Daniel Radcliffe.

Saying goodbye to Harry Potter.
“It’s sad that it’s coming to an end. I enjoyed it so much. Full article…
