The unending string of remakes continues with a second remake to the 1932 classic Scarface. The version that is most known and loved to audiences all over the world is the 1983 remake of Scarface starring Al Pacino as the iconic Tony Montana. Can a new version measure up to the Pacino classic?
Okay, the first thing that comes to mind is: Another remake? Seriously? Is Hollywood still driving on E in the creative gas tank?
The truth is that the story of the rise from rags to riches in the world of organized crime in Scarface is adaptable to literally any era.

I reviewed an adult comedy only last week, that slightly missed the mark, so when I saw this one come up on my review radar for the week, I was a little tempered at going in full steam thinking it was going to be anything more than just solid. But with a couple of the current hot young actors, both figuratively and physically, in the lead roles, meant it was at least going to have some good acting from these up and comers. But with a fairly overly used premise, that I’ve seen in adult comedies over the past couple of years, didn’t bode well though for the film, but as ever, I give most films a chance, and see pretty much anything. Last night at a big screening at the New York Television Festival, the world-at-large got a first peek at Logo’s news “housewives-with-balls” franchise. Clad in boots, blazer, buckles and some bad-ass rhinestoned high heels, the cast of galloped up to the SVA theater on 23rd Street, and were met with flashbulbs, video crews, a hootin’-and-hollerin’ screening audience, and a pretty warm welcome overall.
As seen in the photos above, cast members,,,,and the big ol’ cowboyposed for pics before the premiere episode was screened, sat in the front row blushing and gushing, and then hit the stage immediately after for an audience Q&A (moderated by yours truly! go figure!)

Sometimes the temptation is there to put books that I couldn’t finish to one side and pretend that I never picked them up in the first place… Actually, that’s only the case with the really awful books and we’ve all read a few like that haven’t we? ;o) Books like that will more often than not get a whole review slot all to themselves but what about the others? What about those books that didn’t actually do anything wrongbut just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time?
